Sir,

Kevin Harrold's eulogy of Peter Keogh (News Weekly, August 4, 2007) was all truth, heart and mateship.

Peter Keogh was a born leader with meaningful ideas. He loved his wife Pat, his family, his country Australia, the DLP, the NCC and the Church. Peter enjoyed parties, laughter and friends, and the long argument. He was fun to be with.

If it were not for unsung heroes like him, the battle for state aid for Christian schools would never have begun, let alone succeeded.

Thanks and vale, my avuncular friend.

Geoff Hicks,
Campbelltown, NSW
